Kashmir transforms into a white paradise in winter, and the Kashmir Winter Wonderland package is your ticket to experiencing this magical season at its very best. From December through February, the valley is blanketed in snow, Dal Lake partially freezes, and Gulmarg becomes one of Asia's premier ski destinations.
This 5-day winter package is built around the ski resort town of Gulmarg, where you can take skiing lessons on the world's highest ski lift or simply revel in the Himalayan snowscapes. Srinagar in winter has a unique charm too — the houseboats draped in snow, the kangri (traditional fire pot) warming every room, and the steaming cups of noon chai (pink salty tea) at every corner.
Includes a visit to the frozen shores of Dal Lake, a snow sledge ride in Gulmarg and a Kashmiri Wazwan dinner.
Your 5-Day Itinerary
Arrival, hotel check-in, evening visit to snow-covered Dal Lake promenade, Wazwan dinner with traditional Kashmiri Kangri warmth.
Visit snow-draped Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Hazratbal Shrine and Shankaracharya Temple. Walk along the snow-covered Boulevard.
Drive to Gulmarg, gondola ride to Kongdori, skiing session for beginners (instructor available), snow sledge rides, bonfire dinner.
Morning snowshoe walk through Gulmarg forests, optional Gondola Phase 2 to Apharwat Peak (14,000 ft), return to Srinagar.
Morning visit to frozen Dal Lake shores, shopping for dry fruits, Pashmina shawls and Kashmiri handicrafts, transfer to airport.
